REPORT OF STATISTICS OF PERFORMANCE`OF MOHSIN EYE BANK
1. Till date collected 1816 corneas and helped in 1066 corneal transplantation's and rest of the tissues has been distributed for training and research purpose.
2. Mohsin Eye Bank works as a Community Eye Bank and has been distributing tissues to various corneal surgeons and hospitals not only in Visakhapatnam but also to eye hospitals in all parts of the country such as to cities like Chennai, Varnasi, Lucknow, Delhi etc.
3. Conducted 294 Audiovisual Programmes for various sections of society as part of public awareness creation.
4. Participated in public functions such as Fetes, Jataras, general Exhibitions, Melas, Visakha Utsav, Flower Shows etc. to interact and educate people, so far we conducted 60 such programmes.
5. Two work shops have been conducted for the Doctors, Ophthalmologists and hospital administrators on “Corneal Blindness & Cornea Retrieval Process”.
6. Conducted CME programme to Eye Specialists in Costal A.P. on “Eye Banking, Corneal Processing and Keratoplasty Surgery”.
7. Conducted round table discussion on “MULTI ORGAN DONATION & EUTHANASIA” in the presence of public audience where in experts from Medicine, Legal, NGO’s representatives, Media persons and prominent Public Representatives participated and discussed about the above subject.
8. Conducted seminar on Transplantation Immunology, Corneal Transplantation, Kidney transplantation and Transfusion Medicine – an emerging discipline in the presence of HOD’s, Professors, Asst. Professors, Post Graduates, House Surgeons and Under Graduates of Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam.
9. Motivated the public in involving them in our activities by becoming “Friends of Eye Bank” which totaled to 712 so far.
10. Entered into an M.O.U. with KGH, Apollo, CARE, Indus, Apoorva and Queen NRI Hospitals in carrying our “Hospital Cornea Retrieval Programme (HCRP)”.
11. We have satellite centers at Salur, Srikakulam, Parvathipuram and we are getting tissues from Vizianagaram, Narsipatnam. We are planning to expand to other satellite centers.
