VEBART TRUST was established in the year 2001 by
Leading Ophthalmologists and Philanthropists of Visakhapatnam
City. The Trust is Registered at Visakhapatnam, A.P, India
(Regd.No. 74/2001.) M/s. MOHSIN BROTHERS, Visakhapatnam,
through their family trust Viz., MOHSIN BROTHERS
FOUNDATION has donated a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs towards the
corpus fund, in consideration of which the VEBART TRUST had
resolved to name the EYE BANK as MOHSIN EYE
BANK.
The Trust is voluntary, Non-profit making,
Community service organization and has been registered with
The "Eye Bank Association of India", Hyderabad and also strictly
follows the norms of The Transplantation of Human Organs Act, Govt. of
India 1994 and State Govt. of A.P. Act 1995.
Donations to the Trust
are exempted under Sec. 80G of Income Tax
Act.

MODE OF OPERATION OF THE VEBART
TRUST: |

1. To
run the eye bank on no profit basis as per the guidelines of
eye bank association of India with an ultimate aim of
establishing the eye bank to the international
standards.
2. To create and propagate the awareness of
the need to donate eyes and help the society through various
Electronic Media, Print Media and volunteers.
3. To arrange for
counseling of the members of the bereaved family
through trained medico social workers and also by the members
of our trust and other friends of bank members
who volunteer for this purpose.
4. To contact various
NGO'S and other service organisations like Satya Sai
Seva Organisations, Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, Vasavi Clubs,
Vikas Tarangini and other service organisations for help to
propagate this movement and help the trust activities in
whatever manner that is possible.
5. Resources
mobilization:
i) The trust is created with a seed money
of Rs.75,000/- mostly donated by trust members and friends of
eye bank.
ii) Another amount of 60 to 70 thousand is
promised by few voluntary organizations and friends of
eye bank and shall be realised shortly.
iii) Monetary
resources mobilization from corporate sector and
banks.
iv) To offer a package deal to individuals
or organisations for arranging certain number of corneal
transplants per year provided they arrange for specified funds
to run the eye bank.
v) To conduct certain programs
wherein people with charismatic appeal can help to propagate
the cause and appeal for funds to Eye bank.
vi) The
trust is also working in the direction of seeking the
funds that are offered to establish and run the Eye bank
from NPCB both at state and central level.
vii)
Finance resources and technical help is also to be sought from
NRIs (mostly doctors) and other agencies
abroad. The ultimate aim is to create a core deposit money
of Rs.1 crore for smooth running of trust and its activities
especially the eye bank.

Dr. AVN
Chetty, our Vice Chairman has been elected unanimously as
Chairperson, South Zone for Eye Bank Association of India (EBAI)
which governs over 200 eye banks in India. |
